Life in Beta: Single Player (End Phase)
This performance is created within the framework of the dancEUA project, co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe programme. The project is implemented by Studio za suvremeni ples, Central Europe Dance Theatre, M Studio, Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts and Ukrainian Contemporary Dance Platform.
Life in Beta: Single Player (End Phase) unfolds within the conceptual universe of Life in Beta, exploring a world shaped by optimisation, abundance, and the pursuit of collective perfection. Within this living system, bodies function as synchronized nodes - continuously corrected, updated, and absorbed into a central intelligence.
Approached through the perspective of a single body, Single Player (End Phase) shifts the focus from collective dynamics to isolation within the system itself. Movement exists in suspension, caught between activation and inertia, as the body remains in a state of continuous waiting.
Rather than acceleration or progress, optimisation reveals itself through stasis, dependency, and the quiet persistence of control. The work reflects a condition already familiar - where autonomy gradually gives way to guidance, and where the absence of direction becomes its own form of regulation.
The performance has toured to Vitlycke – Centre for Performing Arts and M Studio.
